In 1997, the Saskatchewan Worker’s Compensation Board (WCB) together with some employers from the meat industry recognized the need for a Safety Association to assist in the reduction of human and financial loss within the meat industry. In 2009 the Saskatchewan Meat Industry Safety Association (S.M.I.S.A.) expanded our services to include all of the manufacturing industry in Saskatchewan which included a name change to the Manufacturing Safety Association of Saskatchewan Inc. (M.S.A.S.). We are an industry funded association that receives a portion of the premiums paid by the Manufacturing employers in Saskatchewan which are paid to WCB. Any Manufacturing employer in Saskatchewan who pays WCB premiums are automatically members of the Manufacturing Safety Association of Saskatchewan Inc. The Association belongs to the members ~ therefore we work for you! We are governed by a Board of Directors who provide guidance, expertise and knowledge to the industry.
